Ghana Medical Association Backs Out On Organised Labour Strike | General News

The Ghana Medical Association has directed all members of the Association to remain at post in opposition to the scheduled demonstration by Organised Labour.

A press release signed by the Association President, Dr. Frank Serebour revealed the medical Associations refusal to embark on the strike to join the call for the President to declare state of emergency following the damage caused by illegal activities.

Their statement is in contrast to Organuised Labour’s call on all members to join in the industrial strike which is scheduled for October 10, 2024 but the GMA stated that they have not received any roadmap to any industrial action. In view of that, the GMA said, all members are expected to continue providing full services without interruptions.

The GMA however, said it is in solidarity with the Organized Labour in the fight against illegal small scale mining (Galamsey).
