Kwabena Agyei Agyepong, Senior Campaign Adviser to Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, has praised the leadership qualities and achievements of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer, highlighting his impressive track record both at the Bank of Ghana and as Vice President over the past seven years.
During an interview on The Point of View on Channel One TV, Mr Agyepong emphasised Dr. Bawumia’s fresh ideas, energy, and ability to bring together Ghanaians of different faiths, particularly Muslims and Christians, under a unified national identity.
He noted that Dr. Bawumia’s unique ability to appeal across religious and social divides makes him an exceptional leader for the nation.
Mr Agyepong also called on NPP members, including those who had contested in the party’s flagbearer race, to set aside their differences and rally behind Dr. Bawumia in preparation for the 2024 general elections.
He stressed that unity within the party is essential for securing victory and advancing the nation’s progress.
He concluded by expressing deep respect for the party’s decision to choose Dr. Bawumia as its flagbearer, urging all members to stand united and committed to ensuring his success.
The former General Secretary of the NPP underscored, “His background has made him very empathic…He’s someone most party people give affection to and that is very good.
“He has been selected by the party and I respect the authority of the party and he won significantly. I think Bawumia got the opportunity to lead this country and the party in a new dimension, in a new era, with new ideas and new energy.
“Of course, he has learnt a lot from the difficulties that we have seen, over the last two, three years, especially after the economy spiralled out of control.”
