Bring Asante Bediatuo Back To Agenda 111 Hospitals For Treatment

Following the news of the sudden illness of Nana Bediatuo Asante, Executive Secretary to President Nana Akufo-Addo, social media platform X (formerly Twitter) erupted with a disturbing wave of ill-wishes. Many users expressed hope that not only Asante but also key figures in the government—such as former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, Gabby Otchere-Darko, and President Akufo-Addo—would face similar predicaments.

In response to the vitriol, Gabby Otchere-Darko took to Twitter, questioning why there was so much hatred directed at Nana Bediatuo Asante, a man who, according to him, had done no harm to those expressing such animosity. His tweet only seemed to fuel the anger, with even harsher comments from users suggesting that Otchere-Darko himself would soon suffer the same fate.

Addressing the situation on UTV’s United Showbiz, entertainment pundit Bulldog expressed a more measured stance. While clarifying that he did not wish death upon Bediatuo Asante, he did add a dose of biting sarcasm. “Fly him back to Ghana since he is now in stable condition to continue treatment in the Agenda 111 hospital built by Akufo-Addo, which are so advanced and well equipped to handle his condition,” he quipped, drawing laughter from the studio audience.

In his remarks, Bulldog also referenced the death of John Kumah, who had been rushed from Kumasi to Accra for medical treatment before being flown abroad, where he sadly passed away. He argued that if the Okomfo Anokye Teaching Hospital had been better equipped, Kumah’s life might have been saved without the need for overseas treatment. The incident served as a sobering reminder of the inadequacies in Ghana’s healthcare infrastructure.

Bulldog went further to offer a thought-provoking analogy: “If you are the only rich person in your neighborhood and you don’t share your riches with the poor around you, one day they will rise and share their poverty with you.” The statement was a cautionary message to the country’s leaders, urging them to bridge the vast gap between the privileged elite and the struggling masses.

He ended his commentary with a powerful rebuke of the political leadership, accusing them of intellectual negligence despite Ghana’s abundance of natural resources. “God is not a fool. Ghana is blessed with everything, but the brain is barren. We have all the important natural resources like gold, diamonds, bauxite, etc., but our leaders lack sense,” he declared, pinpointing the root of public frustration. Watch the video below

Bulldog’s remarks highlighted a growing sentiment of resentment among Ghanaians, who feel that while politicians have access to world-class healthcare abroad, ordinary citizens are left to suffer in underfunded and poorly equipped medical facilities. According to him, this stark disparity in access to healthcare is fueling the rising tide of hostility towards government officials like Nana Bediatuo Asante.
