Ashanti Regional Chairman of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Bernard Antwi Boasiako, popularly known as Chairman Wontumi, has issued a warning to government appointees who are not actively participating in the New Patriotic Party’s campaign for the 2024 elections.

He emphasized that appointees who fail to demonstrate their commitment and contributions to the party during their time in power will face consequences from him after the elections.

Chairman Wontumi pointed out that even individuals like Kennedy Agyapong, who previously challenged Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, are actively involved in campaigning on the ground.

Therefore, government appointees have no excuse to not engage in campaigning and should set aside any sense of entitlement to ensure the party remains in power.

“If you supported Dr. Bawumia during the primaries, it is not enough. He aspires to be president, and it is crucial for you to support him in achieving that goal. Kennedy Agyapong, who contested against him, is actively campaigning and working towards our victory. They have proven their loyalty to the party.

“In 2016, we emerged victorious in the elections. Therefore, if you are an appointee and fail to demonstrate your commitment, we will hold you accountable. Show your dedication. Actions speak louder than words. Bawumia and Samira Bawumia do not need to explicitly state that they are campaigning; their efforts will be evident to all,” he emphasised.
