Election 2024: Bawumia waging a good campaign, I believe he’ll win

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has expressed strong confidence in Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia’s campaign for the 2024 presidential election.

He praised Bawumia’s efforts, highlighting his resonating message and solid track record.

In an interview with France24, he stated “I believe that, first of all, he is waging a good campaign. He has a message that is resonating especially with the young people in Ghana,” Akufo-Addo stated.

He emphasised the New Patriotic Party (NPP) government’s achievements during their nearly eight years in office, noting significant reforms in education, healthcare, road infrastructure, and the digital economy.

Despite economic challenges, President Akufo-Addo believes the administration’s accomplishments provide a strong foundation for Bawumia’s campaign.

“The Ghanaian people know that the nearly eight years we were in office were not wasted. We did a lot, of major reforms in education, in our health system, in our road infrastructure, in the development of the digital economy,” he said.

President Akufo-Addo also commended Bawumia for introducing new ideas, particularly those aimed at involving young people in the nation’s development.

“He has brought some new ideas to the surface, especially how the young people can get involved in developing themselves and the nation’s economy,” he added.

Concluding his remarks, Akufo-Addo expressed his optimism about Bawumia’s chances in the upcoming election.

“That is what is giving me confidence that he is going to win. I believe that he will win,” he affirmed.
