The only person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be. Challenging yourself by investing in yourself remains the best investment you will ever make and you need to do great, attained by loving what you do.

Football journey

Henry Lawerteh, a citizen of Ada Toflokpo, a suburb of the Ada West District, is excited to join the world’s most popular and, arguably, one of the highest-paying professions the globe can testify about. His contribution to this profession and incarnation is confined to his courage and willingness to take fault.

Still young, Henry watches the senior national team, the Black Stars, the talented young goalkeeper is inspired to pursue a football career. As a young prodigy, he plays football to fulfill the obvious goalie role and prevent his team’s opponents from scoring goals.

Aracom Football Academy, located in the Eastern Region, was Henry’s first academic football club. His professional football career began in 2023 when he joined Dansoman Professionals, a Second Division club, where he now plays the goalkeeper role. He anticipates earning a call-up to feature in the goalpost for the senior national team, the Black Stars after the requisite football experience.

Every Ghanaian footballer supports both local and European clubs. Henry is ambitious to play for Accra Hearts of Oak, his favourite local club, to support and watch the team play. Despite his age, he is Ghana’s 2009 Under-20 World Cup champion Daniel Adjei’s outstanding performance. Henry’s local role model is Daniel Adjei, a former Liberty Professional save peer of hands.

Most African players still see European trade as their ultimate goal. Henry envisions himself retaining the position for Real Madrid, a team he loves, much like Andre Onana does for Manchester United and Edouard Mendy does for Chelsea Football team. The hardworking goalkeeper will be gracious to rise to Thibaut Nicolas Marc Courtois, a fit that requires more work and commitment.

Educational Career

Henry Lawerteh attended Mataheko D/A primary school in the Ningo Prampram District in the Greater Accra Region. He was the school team’s goalkeeper throughout his basic school days. After basic education, he attended a Farmers’ Training Programme at the School of Agriculture College of Basic and Applied Sciences University of Ghana, Legon. Henry gained knowledge in commercial farming and poultry research.
