Renowned Ghanaian musician cum entrepreneur, Reggie Rockstone, has urged citizens, especially the youth to reject attempts by politicians to incite them into indulging in violence.

In an interview on GhanaWeb TV’s Moans and Cuddles, hosted by Patricia Rockson Hammond, Reggie expressed his desire to continue living in the untroubled peace he has always enjoyed.

He urged the youth to avoid engaging in violent acts in the forthcoming elections, pointing out that politicians who urge them on tend to have escape plans if unrest occurs.

“If you intend to misbehave in this election, take it out of your mind. The politicians sending you to misbehave have a way out. If violence happens, they will go out of the country, leaving just the two of us,” he warned.

Highlighting Africa’s wealth of natural resources, Reggie Rockstone urged the youth to protect their countries from foreign exploitation and to resist being swayed by politicians to promote violence.

“If you turn on CNN and see what is happening in other countries like Liberia, it’s because of natural resources. They want to take advantage of us, especially the young. And they will use the politicians, so don’t let them pollute you, never think about messing your country up,” he advised.

Reggie Rockstone’s message comes as Ghana approaches its general elections on December 7, 2024.

As the date approaches, political campaigns have been intensified with politicians using different strategies to woo the electorates.
