Atwima-Agogo (Ash), Oct 01, GNA – The next NDC government will work with master craftsmen to establish community-based apprentice training programmes across the country.
Madam Betty Mould-Iddrisu, a Former Attorney General and Minister of Justice, who announced this, said it was part of the National Apprenticeship Training Program, which would be implemented by the NDC within the first 120 days in office.
She was speaking at a community engagement at Atwima-Agogo, as part of the NDC women outreach and campaign tour of the Atwima Nwabiagya South Municipality of the Ashanti region.
She explained that apprentices in each community would be registered and shared amongst master craftsmen and women in the communities.
The government would provide financial, and material support needed by these apprentices to go through their training.
This, she said was part of efforts to lessen the financial burden of parents who wanted their wards to learn vocational and technical training.
Mrs Mould-Iddrisu called for massive support for former President John Dramani Mahama and the NDC as well as the Parliamentary Candidates to help win the elections and implement the policy.
She charged the party supporters to be alert throughout the election’s day to protect the ballots from rigging.
“Staying calmly and peacefully near a polling station to watch and protect your vote doesn’t offend any law in Ghana” She declared.
Mr George Loh, the party’s Deputy Director of Legal Affairs said the four-year achievements of the NDC were greater than the eight years of the NPP and urged the supporters to explain the achievements and vision of the party to the electorates to help win more votes.
Mr Joshua Fugah, an inter-party relations member of the NDC debunked the allegations that former President Mahama would cancel the Free Senior High School policy.
Mr Wisdom Osei Boamah, the NDC Parliamentary Candidate (PC) for the area, said the party was poised to win the December elections and called on the people to vote massively for the NDC.
Nana Akwasi Amankwaa-Tiah 1, Adontenhene of Atwima-Agogo, commended the NDC for the provision of a motorable road, electricity, potable water, and other social amenities, while in government and called on the people to support the party to win the December elections.
