Politics Is Not About Material Gains – Kwabena Agyepong Cautions Ghanaian Politicians | Politics

Former General Secretary and one-time presidential aspirant of the New Patriotic Party, Kwabena Agyei Agyepong has advised politicians in the country to put the interest of the nation before their personal gains.

Kwabena Agyepong, joining Peace FM’s Wednesday’s panel on “Kokrokoo” show, admonished his colleague politicians to give the citizenry a different mindset stating politics is not about material possession but rather about nationalism.

He noted that people have had a wrong perception about the way politics is played in Ghana and the role of politicians for a very long time, hence it’s about time such perceptions were cleared.

“We, the politicians, and ordinary people must change our minds about what politics stands for and why it is called governance. We shoud understand that politics is about service, sacrifice and hard work to make Ghana better.”

“We (politicians) are just a representation of the national fabric. We, as a people, must change our attitudes…our mindset about Ghana. We must proudly hit our chest and say we are doing something great for our nation and you should be very proud of that”, he advised.

Kwabena Agyepong is a prime member of the Bawumia campaign team, following the NPP flagbearer in his “It Is Possible” bus across the country.

He is optimistic Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia will emerge winner in the December 7 polls.
