GH¢50,000 Bounty For NDC Man

Ibrahim Mohammed, aka Kanawu

The Ghana Police Service has announced a GH¢50,000 bounty for information leading to the arrest of Ibrahim Mohammed, a self-proclaimed ‘rebel leader’ who has threatened to harm public officials in a viral video.

In the video, Mohammed, who refers to himself as ‘Kanawu’, issued chilling threats against the Inspector General of Police, Dr. George Akuffo-Dampare, the Chairperson of the Electoral Commission, Jean Mensa, and the Interior Minister, Henry Quartey.

He warned that they would be killed, specifically mentioning that they know the minister’s home address.

Mohammed, who claims to be a member of the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC), accused them of engaging in illegal recruitment into the Ghana Police Service.

He asserted that he did not care a hoot since his party was born out of a revolution.

His threats have since sparked widespread concern and condemnation on social media, prompting the police to take swift action.

The Police Service has urged anyone with information on Mohammed’s whereabouts to come forward and assist in his apprehension.

The police have assured the public that they will do everything in their power to ensure the safety and security of the threatened officials and maintain law and order in the country.
