Election 2024: ‘Anybody who causes trouble will be dealt with’

Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, the running mate of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), has issued a stern warning to individuals planning to cause disturbances before, during, or after the upcoming 2024 elections.

While on a campaign tour in the Asunafo South Constituency of the Ahafo Region, Dr. Opoku Prempeh assured that anyone found engaging in violent activities would be dealt with appropriately.

Addressing Chiefs, Clergy, and a mini rally at Noberkaw, he emphasized that the NPP’s priority has always been to manage Ghana’s resources responsibly, ensuring the well-being of the people and fostering economic growth without compromising the environment.

He also stressed that political affiliations would not protect those involved in violent acts from prosecution, reaffirming the rule of law.

His comments follow a recent clash between members of the NDC and NPP at Kwapong, within the same constituency, which nearly escalated into serious violence.

Addressing the people of Asunafo, Dr Opoku Prempeh reiterated that anyone acting contrary to the law will face justice, and the courts will ensure the proper legal processes are followed.

He underscored the NPP’s commitment to a peaceful 2024 general election and emphasized its dedication to ensuring a smooth electoral process.

In support, Frank Aduse Poku, the NPP’s Parliamentary Candidate for Asunafo South, highlighted several developmental projects initiated by the NPP government and urged constituents to vote for the continuation of these efforts.
