Asamoah Gyan’s position not new; he wasn’t an NPP member – Krobea Asante

Social media lead for the Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia campaign, Krobea Asante, insists Asamoah Gyan had no affiliation with the New Patriotic Party (NPP).

According to him, the ex-Black Stars captain has over the period made his position known about politics.

Therefore, his recent statement of not being affiliated with any political party is not new.

Krobea Kwabena Asante who expressed this position in a post shared via social media said “But what has Asamoah Gyan said new? This has been his cliche even when he’s given the Mic. At the Greater Accra Youth Connect(get his video and watch) he said same that he is not affiliated with NPP but was invited to be a member of the Sports Commitee so he obliged and even any party wants his help he will make himself available. He has just put it on paper now. Let’s focus on what has been his philosophy throughout.”

From videos available on Asamoah Gyan after he was appointed to head the youth and sports committee of the New Patriotic Party manifesto, Asamoah Gyan was heard saying “By God’s Grace if Ghanaians vote for you I know with your visionary you’ll help the youth. Me, I am not a politician but if you come and you don’t do anything for the youth, I will speak up against you.”

Asamoah Gyan has since disclosed in a post shared via social media that he has no political affiliation in Ghana.

He has promised the youth to support them through his foundation and some initiatives he intends to roll out in the coming days.
