How can you allow someone you’re supposed to arrest to touch your nomination forms? – Ablakwa angry at Bawumia

The Member of Parliament for North Tongu Constituency, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has stated that the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia, cannot be trusted with the affairs of the country.

According to him, for the Vice President to allow Rev. Victor Kusi Boateng, the founder and General Overseer of Power Chapel Worldwide, to touch his nomination forms indicates his failure in the fight for digitalization in the country.

Ablakwa explained that Rev. Kusi Boateng, with whom he shares a feud over what he has described as a double identity (an issue still pending in court), needs to be arrested by the Vice President, who doubles as the Chair of the Ghana Police Service Council, rather than being presented with NPP Presidential Forms for prayers.

“Ghana’s Vice President and Chair of the Ghana Police Service Council, instead of directing the arrest of a man whom the courts have described as having a criminal double identity, chose to present him with his NPP Presidential Forms for prayers.

“The additional irony is that Vice President Bawumia has drifted away from the ailing economy and presented himself as a digitalization champion who has put in place systems to combat identity fraud. It doesn’t appear to occur to him that the Kusi Boateng/Kwabena Adu Gyamfi scandal highlights another abysmal failure on his part.

“As for Kusi Boateng/Kwabena Adu Gyamfi, we can appreciate that the fear of going to jail when his political protectors are no longer in power will keep driving his antics.

“Clearly, Bawumia cannot be trusted to end the impunity which is destroying our country, either manifesting as galamsey, state capture, corruption, nepotism, or identity fraud,” he said in a social media post.

On September 9, 2024, Bawumia made headlines for presenting his nomination forms to Rev. Kusi Boateng and the National Chief Imam for prayers before officially submitting them at the office of the Electoral Commission.
