Nana Sarpong Kumankumah vows to bring governance to grassroots level

The newly elected flagbearer of the Convention People’s Party (CPP), Nana Frimpomaa Sarpong Kumankumah, has expressed optimism about securing victory in the 2024 General Elections.

She won the position with 763 votes out of 1,360 cast by delegates, defeating her opponent, Yaw Anokye, who received 586 votes.

She emphasised that the CPP’s approach to governance will prioritise the doorstep needs of Ghanaians, indicating a shift from the traditional top-down approach to governance.

In an interview with Channel One News after her victory, Nana Sarpong Kumankumah stated, “I’m coming here with things that are not theory or theorised.”

“I’m coming here with you [Ghanaians] who are the everyday people. The everyday Ghanaian who needs accommodation, who needs jobs, who needs to have a family, that are the basics, they are fundamental, they are elementary.  That is why we are bringing governance to the doorsteps of Ghanaians.”
