Odomase (B/R), Sept. 2, GNA – Mr Yaw Dabie Appiah Mensah, a senior member of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Bono Region, Monday called on the Party to adequately resource the various constituency offices to propagate the intentions of the Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the Flagbearer.
He said the masses at the grassroots ought to be abreast of the plans of the Party’s flagbearer as well as the NPP Election 2024 Manifesto.
That would position them well to make informed decisions and vote for Alhaji Dr Bawumia when they go to polls on December 7.
Mr Mensah expressed worry over the many electorates at the grassroots level who were unaware of the numerous achievements of the Government.
“Our interactions with them clearly shows that many of the electorate in the rural areas are unaware about the NPP manifesto and plans of our flag-bearer,” he told the Ghana News Agency (GNA) in an interview at Odomase in the Sunyani West Municipality on the side-lines of a campaign outreach.
Mr Mensah explained that he and the “Team Dabie 4 Bawumia”, an emerging political group canvassing votes for Bawumia, had intensified the electioneering to get to the grassroots.
“From our campaign outreaches, I think Alhaji Dr Bawumia and his campaign team ought to actively engage Ghanaians not only on their manifesto and plans, but also the importance of participating in the electoral process too,” he said.
Mr Mensah, also a former Organiser of the NPP in the then Brong-Ahafo Region, emphasized that election 2024 remained crucial for the continuation of the NPP’s developmental agenda.
He acknowledged the challenges confronting the country and highlighted the NPP government’s commendable efforts in managing those challenges from economic stability to infrastructure development.
The NPP’s track record demonstrated a proactive approach to governance, directed at improving the lives of Ghanaians, even in the face of global economic downturn and internal challenges, Mr Mensah said.
He argued that while challenges existed, the NPP’s performance in managing economic difficulties sets the party apart as the better option for the future.
“Ghanaians, therefore, should not be discouraged from voting due to dissatisfaction but should instead evaluate the comparative performance of the NPP and recognise the tangible improvement made under its leadership” he said.
“Dr Bawumia’s background and record of accomplishment made him the best to lead Ghana, a seasoned economist and a key figure in the NPP government, Dr Bawumia has played a pivotal role in driving economic reforms, implementing digital innovations, and enhancing public sector efficiency.”
His vision for a digitalised and inclusive economy aligns with the needs of modern Ghana, ensuring that the country remained competitive on the global stage.
“The NPP’s developmental projects, which include improvements in healthcare, education, infrastructure, and social services, have laid the foundation for a brighter future for Ghana and by voting for Dr. Bawumia, Ghanaians can ensure that these projects are not only sustained but also expanded upon, driving the nation towards greater prosperity.”
The former Regional Organiser said NPP’s approach to governance, characterised by strategic planning and execution, was what Ghana needed to navigate the current global challenges.
“Dr Bawumia’s leadership will provide the continuity required to build on the gains made by the NPP, ensuring that Ghana remains on a path of development and growth.”
