2024 Tourism Month and UN World Tourism Day launched in Accra

The 2024 Tourism Month in Ghana and the UN World Tourism Day celebration were launched by the Ghana Tourism Authorit[GTA] at the Jake Obetsebi Lamptey Hall, GTA Head office on Friday, August 31.

The Tourism Month in Ghana was instituted by the Ghana Tourism Authority and it is geared towards encouraging the patronage of festivals, events, tourist sites and attractions in the country, as well as critical roles domestic tourism plays in growing inclusive and sustainable tourism economy.

The UN World Tourism Day Celebration is commemorated annually on 27th September to foster awareness among the international community of the importance of tourism and its social, cultural, political and economic value.

This year’s Tourism Month will be climaxed with the United Nations World Tourism Day Celebrations from Thursday, 26th September to Sunday, 29th September, 2024.

Some of the dignitaries who attended the launch included the Board Chairman of GTA Hon. Seth Adjei Baah, and the Deputy Creative Arts Minister Hon. Mark Okraku Mantey.

The presentation on Tourism Month and World Tourism Day was conducted by Betty Kobi.
