Election 2024: Berekum East MP assures 70 per cent votes for Bawumia

By Dennis Peprah

Berekum, (B/R), Aug. 29, GNA – Mr Nelson Kyeremeh, the Member of Parliament (MP) for Berekum East, has given the assurance that Alhaji Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, the flagbearer of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) would secure 70 per cent votes in the December 7, polls.

In the Election 2020, the MP recollected that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) had 61.23 per cent votes in the presidential elections in the constituency and added that the improvement of access roads in the constituency had inspired the confidence of the electorates.

“This is because in the 2020 election campaign, the Vice President promised to improve the deplorable condition of the Berekum town roads and he has fulfilled the promise perfectly,” Mr Nelson stated.

He was addressing chiefs and elders of the Zongo community at a mammoth rally at Berekum to welcome Hajia Samira Bawumia, the wife of Vice President Alhaji Dr Alhaji Bawumia, as part of her campaign visit to the area to canvass votes for her husband.

Mr Nelson indicated that the chiefs and people of Berekum would forever be grateful to the NPP, specifically, the Vice President for spearheading the reshaping of the access roads in the Berekum Township which had further beautified the town too.

“We are sincerely grateful to the Vice President and on behalf of the entire Berekum people, I assured the Vice President that we would not let him down and show our appreciation by ensuring that at least he secured 70 per cent of our votes”, the MP stated amid amorous applause from the visibly excited masses.

Hajia Bawumia said she was excited about the rousing welcome given to her, saying that testified that the electorates in the constituency care and had confidence in Vice President Alhaji Dr Bawumia.

She said the best appreciation the electorates could show to her husband was for them to go out in their numbers and vote for the Vice President on December 7, saying, with his sense of integrity, humility and hard work, she was confident that Alhaji Dr Bawumia’s government would be able to transform the economic fortunes of the nation.

Madam Justina Owusu-Banahene, the Bono Regional Minister, appreciated the love and care demonstrated by the people and asked the NPP supporters to intensify the electioneering and project achievements of the NPP government.

She also called on the electorate to vote for and retain the MP for the area to enable him to continue with his good works.

Mr Kwame Baffoe, the Bono Regional Chairman of the NPP, reminded the electorate that voting for the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the Election of 2024 would drawback national development.

He said the NPP needed an additional four years to strengthen the implementation of the government flagship Free Senior High School programme and other socio-economic intervention policies to improve the standard of living of the people.
