By Kekeli K. Blamey

Juapong (V/R), Aug. 26, GNA – Togbega Kadzi Zogah II, President of the Tongu Chiefs Union, has urged politicians to exercise restraint in their campaign rhetoric and avoid promoting violence.

He made this appeal during the inauguration of the Chiefs’ Union at Juapong.

With the December general election approaching, Togbega Kadzi Zogah emphasized the high stakes involved in the election of the Presidential and Parliamentary candidates and cautioned that violent tendencies could have devastating consequences, citing examples of prosperous countries that had been brought down by violence and taken years to recover.

The traditional leader stressed the importance of maintaining peace in the country, and urged the electorate to avoid any actions that would disturb the peace.

He also encouraged losers to accept defeat graciously, emphasizing that “we have only one Ghana” and that peace should be prioritized above all else.
