Mahama coming back is like an insult to Ghanaians

Ghanaian actor and NPP supporter, Prince David Osei, has expressed strong opposition to the potential return NDC flagbearer, John Dramani Mahama to power.

According to him, Mahama being voted back into office is “like an insult” to Ghanaians.

In an interview on GhOne TV on August 23, 2024, Prince David Osei highlighted Mahama’s extensive political career, noting his roles as an assemblyman, minister of information, parliamentarian, vice president, and president.

However, he questioned the necessity of Mahama’s return, given Ghana’s population of over 30 million people.

“Why must it be that one man becomes a president, goes through all the runs and comes back again? It looks like an insult to the whole of Ghana. Are we saying that in the whole country, there’s nobody else that can command the affairs of Ghana? Do we have to bring an ex-president?” he asked.

Osei also criticized Mahama’s track record in the creative arts sector, stating that he could not recall any significant achievements during Mahama’s tenure.

In contrast, he praised the NPP for initiatives like the “Year of Return” and “Beyond the Return,” which have had a notable impact on the industry.

“I don’t remember any significant landmark during his (Mahama’s) tenure with the creative acts sector. I don’t remember.”

“For the NPP, I can close my eyes and mention the Year of Return and the Beyond the Return initiatives,” he remarked.
