There’s no sense of urgency, seriousness from Mahama

Former Central Regional Minister, Kwamena Duncan has criticised flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) John Mahama, describing him as an opposition leader who lacks a sense of urgency and seriousness.

Speaking on Peace FM on Wednesday, August 21, 2024, monitored by GhanaWeb, Kwamena Duncan said John Mahama, as the leading opposition leader, must be proactive and let Ghanaians know what good policies and programmes the NDC party has for them.

“You don’t see any sense of urgency and seriousness with John Mahama, who wants to be elected as president.  We have barely three to four months until the general elections, but nothing appears to have changed with John Mahama. If he were to be serious, he would have by now told Ghanaians what he wants to do for them when given the chance to be president.

“So that by now, our hearts and minds would have been captured. An opposition leader who was elected by his party in May 2023 to lead them to the general election, he has allowed us who are in government to come out with our manifesto and policies for the Ghanaian people. Someone who is ready to bring some revival in government, will not be as lackadaisical as Mahama. In the unlikely event that he comes to power, then it will be a case of anything goes. But with us in the NPP, Bawumia has shown that he means business. Today, if you mention the name Bawumia, all that comes to mind is business, jobs. He has promised to produce jobs and help businesses grow, and we can trust him on that.
