Ghana’s Vice President Unveils Manifesto Ahead of Presidential Elections

Ghana’s ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has launched its manifesto ahead of the elections, focusing on job creation and economic development. Vice President Mahamudu Bawumia, the NPP’s presidential candidate, unveiled the document at a lively event in Takoradi, emphasizing the party’s commitment to tackling unemployment and empowering the youth. The manifesto promises to improve infrastructure and expand access to education. It also includes a tax amnesty program designed to encourage business compliance with tax regulations. Ghana has a youth unemployment problem and the NPP aims to attract young voters, who form a large part of the electorate, by promising more opportunities. During the event, Bawumia pledged that every Ghanaian who wants to work will be able to do so under the NPP’s governance. The elections, slated for December, will see Bawumia and the NPP face off against the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) led by former President John Mahama.
