Father of twins abandons wife after she gave birth to new set of triplets

A 36-year-old barber, Samuel Boateng has reportedly abandoned his wife, Gloria Teye, at the Eastern Regional Hospital at Koforidua, following the birth of male triplets, a few years after delivering twins.

This new set of triplets brings the couple’s total number of children to seven, including a pair of twins and two other children.

Gloria initially delivered the triplets at home by herself but was subsequently transported to a local health facility, where she was referred to the Regional Hospital, as reported by starrfm.com.gh.

The report added that the new mother is currently on admission at the hospital, while the triplets are receiving care in the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), and Kangaroo mother care services.

According to Gloria, her husband has refused to answer any of her calls after a nurse informed him that his wife had given birth to triplets.

“My husband left the hospital after the nurse informed him that I had given birth to triplets. We tried to call him several times, but he did not answer our calls,” she recounted.

Gloria also stated that her husband had previously expressed concerns about the financial burden of raising multiple children due to struggles he faces in running his barbershop, which is reportedly on the brink of collapse due to high electricity tariffs and low patronage.

“The last time I gave birth to twins, and now triplets. I think that’s why he is unhappy because he told me during my pregnancy that things were hard. Even the four children we already have are a burden to him. My husband runs a barbershop in Nkurakan, but the shop is near collapsing due to high electricity tariffs and low patronage,” she added.

She appealed to the public for financial assistance to pay her hospital bills.

“We need financial support from everyone, at least to pay my hospital bills for now. We beg Ghanaians to help us,” she pleaded.
