NDC slams govt over failed promise on Yendi Water Project

Four years after President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo launched the Yendi water project, residents are still awaiting its completion.

Despite repeated assurances, construction has yet to commence, leaving locals struggling with water access.

The opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) has accused the government of misleading the Overlord of Dagbon, Yaa Naa Mahama Abukari II, and the people of Yendi.

During a press conference in Yendi, the NDC claimed the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) cannot be trusted to deliver the project.

Residents have expressed their concerns, highlighting the difficulties they face in accessing water.

The NDC has called on the president and the NPP Flagbearer to apologise for their failure to deliver on the project.

The Yendi water project, launched in 2019, aims to provide water for the people of Yendi and surrounding communities.

However, the government’s inaction has raised questions about its commitment to the project.

The NDC has promised to prioritise the project if elected, ensuring the provision of water for the people of Yendi.

The party has urged residents to vote against the NPP, citing its consistent failure to deliver on promises.
