I understand artistes who become arrogant at the prime of their career – Kofi Jamar –

Ghanaian music sensation Derrick Osei Kuffour Prempeh, popularly known as Kofi Jamar, has responded to claims that artistes become arrogant at the peak of their careers.

Known for his hit song “Ekorso,” which emerged from the viral Kumerica/Asakaa trend, Kofi Jamar was a guest on GTV’s vibrant entertainment show, Spectacle, which airs every Friday at 8 pm with the hosts Hagar Owusu and Kojo Kinn.

For Kofi, rejections faced by new artistes by industry players before getting to the top contribute to the artistes becoming pompous and sometimes snobbish in their prime.

Kofi Jamar went further to say budding artistes are mostly disrespected and let down a lot by some industry players until they gain traction in the industry.

This results in these artistes reacting in various ways to some people or certain situations, which makes people think they’re arrogant.

“I understand some of my colleagues when they get to the top and ignore certain people in the industry because rejection as a budding artiste in the industry is mad. When you are down, there’s no one there to help you climb up,” he said.

When questioned on certain social media posts he made about the media, he further explained that artistes are disrespected and not invited for interviews when they are not trending, but they rush for the artiste when they go viral.

This, he said, is not helping the industry.
