Brandon Thomas-Asante is a powerful and pacy striker – Coventry City manager –

Coventry City manager Mark Robins has expressed excitement following the signing of Ghanaian striker Brandon Thomas-Asante from West Bromwich Albion.

The 25-year-old, known for his power and pace, has joined the Sky Blues on a four-year deal for an undisclosed fee.

Robins praised the new signing, stating, “We’re excited to welcome Brandon to Coventry City. He is a powerful and pacy striker who has goalscoring pedigree at this level plus a great attitude and work-rate. Brandon can play across the front line and will further strengthen our attacking options. We look forward to working with him at Coventry City.”

Thomas-Asante began his professional career at his hometown club Milton Keynes Dons, debuting in 2016 at 17. After loan spells with Sutton United and Oxford City, he left Milton Keynes in 2019, having made 35 appearances. A brief stint at Ebbsfleet United followed before he joined Salford City in League Two, where he flourished, playing 126 games, scoring 30 goals, and winning the EFL Trophy.

His impressive form at Salford earned him a move to West Bromwich Albion in the Championship at the start of the 2022/23 season. He joined West Brom on a three-year contract for a fee reported to be in the region of £300,000, rejecting a move to Birmingham City. Thomas-Asante made 78 appearances in all competitions for West Brom and scored 21 goals.

The Ghanaian international now brings his goal-scoring prowess to Coventry City, reinforcing the Sky Blues’ attacking lineup.
