Ghana hit with GHC95m judgement debt for unlawful West Blue contract termination –

The State is set to pay GH¢95 million in judgment debt to IT consultancy firm West Blue Consulting, according to reports.

This payment follows the termination of a contract in which West Blue Consulting provided technical and support services to the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) from 2015 to 2020, under the Ministry of Finance’s facilitation.

The contract termination prompted West Blue Consulting to pursue legal action, claiming an outstanding debt of GH¢289 million from the government.

The dispute’s resolution led to the awarded amount, confirmed by GRA Commissioner-General Julie Essiam during a public accounts committee meeting.

Essiam acknowledged the court’s decision, stating, “Indeed, the judgment debt is GH¢95 million.

We will not be able to pay the full amount immediately, and therefore, the agreement with the court is to make the payment in three installments.
