New Patriotic Party (NPP) Vice Presidential candidate Dr Matthew Opoku Prempeh (NAPO) has said that his nomination and unanimous confirmation as Dr Bawumia’s running mate for the 2024 General Elections is part of God’s plan for his life.
In a statement announcing his confirmation as the running mate and expressing gratitude to the NPP and its leadership, especially President Akufo-Addo and the NPP National Council, Dr Opoku added that he considers being the party’s running mate as a call to higher service, a call to sacrifice and a duty to perform, praying for God’s continued guidance as he partners Dr Bawumia and helps him prosecute his campaign.
“I view this nomination as part of God’s plan for my life, and I am grateful for his guidance in directing my path. I pray for his ongoing guidance as I move forward. I consider this nomination as a call to higher service, a call to sacrifice and a duty to perform,” he said in the statement dated July 4, 2024.
He noted that given the numerous qualified persons within the NPP who could have been nominated as running mate to Dr Bawumia, he does not take his nomination lightly, and is committed to helping Dr Bawumia prosecute his campaign.
“The NPP is enriched with numerous astute personalities; therefore, I recognise the significance of my selection and do not take it lightly,” he added.
He called on all party members to work collectively as they work to win the 2024 General Elections and seek to transform the nation into a prosperous one.
He pledged to do his best possible to help Dr Bawumia break the eight; win the 2024 General Elections.
