Accra-JFK flight delayed 48Hrs over reported fault –

A Delta Airline Flight from Accra to New York (DL 157) has been delayed for more than 48 hours in Accra after the aeroplane reportedly developed a fault. 

Hundreds of passengers were left stranded after the flight originally scheduled to take off from Accra Kotoka International Airport on Wednesday 3rd July at 9am. 

MyNewsGh.com is reliably informed the flight was rescheduled to 3pm on same day with all passengers on board by 4pm. However as at 7pm the flight was still unable to take off due to safety concerns. 

Later around 8pm, passengers were made to disembark from the plane to sleep over as the flight could no longer take off. 

Delta did not communicate to passengers when it expects the flight to take off the next day, Tuesday, 4th July 2024. 

As at Press time today, Delta which made arrangements for new flight said the passengers would be conveyed in batches 

The flight which took off from New York to Accra was said to have had a fault which made it dangerous to take off from Accra to New York.

As at press time no formal communication had been made to passengers about the cause of the delay and what steps are being taken to avoid a repeat of the incident which is one too many with Delta Operations in Accra.
