The final burial rites for veteran Nollywood actor John Okafor, popularly known as Mr. Ibu, took place earlier in his hometown, Amuri, located in the Nkanu West Local Government Area of Enugu State.
Videos circulating on social media show pallbearers carrying his casket to his home where he was laid to rest in his living room.
Family members, mourners, and members of the Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) were present at the funeral.
In April, the family announced that Mr. Ibu would be laid to rest on June 28, 2024, in Amuri.
The beloved actor passed away on March 2, 2024, at the age of 62, after a prolonged illness.
He is survived by his wife and three children.
