Lead in climate solutions and inclusive insurance – President –

President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has praised Enterprise Insurance for exemplifying the power of self-reliance and resilience, urging the company to continue its leadership in the insurance sector.

In a statement as Enterprise Insurance Celebrates 100 with a grand ball in Accra, the president stressed the urgent need for the company to help address climate change issues by developing products to protect against losses and damages, such as those experienced in Mepe recently.

With a significant portion of Ghanaians working in the informal sector, he also called on them to champion products that cater for the financially excluded and underserved, including micro and small business enterprises.

The president further emphasised the importance of providing suitable and affordable agricultural insurance services to support both commercial and smallholder farmers.

He noted that Ghana’s growing economy would increase the demand for innovative and inclusive insurance solutions. As such, encouraged Enterprise Insurance to maintain its pioneering spirit, embrace new technologies, and develop solutions that meet the evolving needs of the communities.

“As leaders, and your commitment to serve our people from “cradle to grave”, it is imperative that you promote the delivery of suitable and affordable agricultural insurance services to support and improve the resilience of both commercial and small holder farmers.

“Again, since the majority of Ghanaians work in the informal sector, you must champion products that enable access to appropriate and affordable insurance…. with your partner Prudential Financial of the US, you must as a matter of urgency tackle the challenges of Climate Change with products to protect our people from loss and damages such as occurred in Mepe,” he urges in a statement read on his behalf by the Chief of Staff, Akosua Frema Osei-Opare.

The president also underscored the importance of financial inclusion, urging the company to ensure that every Ghanaian has access to affordable and relevant insurance products.

“By bridging the insurance gap, we can empower individuals, strengthen our communities, and build a more resilient nation,” he stated.

He highlighted Enterprise Insurance’s century-long journey as a testament to the capabilities of Ghanaian businesses to endure and succeed, offering valuable lessons for other local enterprises.
