The Commission on Human Rights and Administrative Justice (CHRAJ) has explained why their report on a petition linked to a key member of the National Cathedral of Ghana has stalled.
In a June 27, 2024, letter addressed to the petitioner, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa (Member of Parliament for North Tongu), CHRAJ said the failure of one of the respondents to cooperate with them had led to delays in completing their work.
“We write in reference to the above-titled matter before the Commission and to inform all parties that save for some information that the 5th Respondent/JNS TALENT CENTRE is yet to provide the Commission, investigations on all material issues have been concluded by the Commission,” parts of the statement signed by Principal Registrar, Daniel Afetsi, read.
CHRAJ said it was in the process of compiling its report adding that JNS TALENT CENTER “is informed that if the time given in the reminder to it to provide some specific information elapses, the Commission will proceed and conclude without it.”
Ablakwa petitioned CHRAJ in January 2023 in a complaint of corruption and abuse of office relative to some expenditure that the National Cathedral made.
The respondents included the Minister of Finance, Controller and Accountant General’s Department and the National Cathedral Board.
Others were Rev. Victor Kusi-Boateng, JNS Talent Center Limited and Johannes Eshun and Shiela Eshun.

“It’s however reassuring that CHRAJ is determined to put out its final decision soon,” Ablakwa captioned his post.
