Bawah Mogtari descends on Ben Ephson over ‘NPP syndicated story,’ accuses him of deviously using Mahama as a distraction –

Joyce Bawah Mogtari, a spokesperson for National Democratic Congress Flagbearer John Dramani Mahama’s campaign team, has criticized pollster and Managing Editor of the Daily Dispatch Newspaper, Ben Ephson, over a recent publication.

In a Facebook post shared on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, Bawah Mogtari accused Ben Ephson of intentionally including Mahama’s name in the publication to tarnish the former president’s reputation.

She emphasized that the former president is incorruptible and that any efforts to implicate him in corruption scandals would be futile.

“Let me remind him and his colleague NPP editors that, unlike Akufo-Addo and Bawumia, President Mahama is incorruptible! Despite the relentless and unfounded accusations the NPP has thrown at him, President Mahama has consistently emerged untarnished, a testament to his unwavering integrity.

“The recent NPP syndicated story, deviously using Mahama’s name as a distraction, is just another ploy to divert attention from the alarming state capture that is unfolding under this administration,” she wrote.

Bawah Mogtari continued, “No matter how hard Ben Ephson and his NPP allies try to link Mahama to corruption, the truth remains: Mahama is free from their mudslinging.”

She criticized Ben Ephson for overlooking the corruption scandals within the Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo government and accused him of turning a blind eye to the issues.

“Ben Ephson and his tabloid news leaflet see no wrong, hear no wrong, and speak no wrong regarding the failed and corrupt Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government.

“The looting of state lands and properties has reached unprecedented levels and has been a topic of discussion in the past few weeks. This syndicated story is, therefore, just another diversion to distract the public’s attention.”

The Daily Dispatch published an article with the title “How Some Mahama Appointees Allegedly Spent Over $8m on Properties in Dubai”.

The article was based on a report by the Organized Crime and Corruption Reporting Project (OCCRP) that named four Ghanaians, including former Minister of Lands and Natural Resources Inusah Abdulai Bistav Fuseini, as one of the “politically exposed persons” who own properties in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

The report also named Anthony Alfred Benin, a former judge on the Supreme Court of Ghana and the ECOWAS (Economic Community of West African States) Court of Justice, who had one property in Dubai linked to him.

Joseph Kwaku Asamoah, a former finance director of the Electoral Commission of Ghana, was also cited in the report as being registered as the co-owner of two Dubai properties.

Moses Aduko Asaga, a former member of Ghana’s parliament and former chief executive of the National Petroleum Authority of Ghana, was also captured in the report with one Dubai property being linked to him.

John Mahama remains incorruptible.

Accra, Ghana – Ben Ephson and his tabloid news leaflet see no wrong, hear no wrong, and speak no wrong regarding the failed and corrupt Akufo-Addo and Bawumia government.

Let me remind him and his colleague NPP editors that, unlike Akufo-Addo and Bawumia, President Mahama is incorruptible!

Despite the relentless and unfounded accusations the NPP has thrown at him, President Mahama has consistently emerged untarnished, a testament to his unwavering integrity.

The recent NPP syndicated story, deviously using Mahama’s name as a distraction, is just another ploy to divert attention from the alarming state capture that is unfolding under this administration.

The looting of state lands and properties has reached unprecedented levels and has been a topic of discussion in the past few weeks. This syndicated story is, therefore, just another diversion to distract the public’s attention.
No amount of loose and imagined associations from Ben Ephson and his NPP friends can overturn this immutable fact that Mahama stands vindicated from all their mudslinging.

Rest assured, Mr Mahama will reclaim the presidency to revitalise Ghana’s economy and hold corrupt NPP officials accountable.
