The legal team of Mona Faiz Montrage, popularly known as Hajia4Real has broken silence after reports that she had pleaded guilty to charges related to her involvement in a romance scam.
Per reports available at the news desk of Ghbase.com, Hajia4Real is to pay $2,164,758.41 and awaits a maximum of 5 years imprisonment.
In a statement sighted by Ghbase.com, the legal team of the popular Ghanaian socialite has said that Hajia4Real is a changed person, and not as bad as she used to be.
In the statement released on 21st February 2024 via the official Instagram page of Hajia4real, the musician willingly went from Heathrow to JFK in May 2023 to face the criminal case in the Southern District of New York.
The statement makes it clear that Hajia4Real had turned a new leaf during that period and wanted to face judgment for all that she did wrong.
“In May 2023, Ms. Montrage voluntarily boarded the flight from Heathrow to JFK to face the criminal case in the Southern District of New York.”, the statement said.
“At that time, she took the first step to closing that chapter of her life. Today, she took responsibility for her bank accounts being used to receive funds from illicit conduct that ended in 2019. Ms. Montrage’s plea does not define her as a person and is not reflective of the individual she is today”, the statement added.
The legal team used the opportunity to thank all and sundry who supported the musician throughout her challenging times.
“Ms. Montrage is thankful for the support of her fans, family, and legal team throughout this process,” the statement stated.
