Thrills @ Awake Experience Concert

Thousands of gospel music fans were on Sunday, February 18 thrilled with great musical performances at this year’s edition of the annual gospel concert dubbed ‘Awake Experience Concert’ held at the International Central Gospel Church (ICGC) auditorium, Teshie in Accra.

The much-hyped event, organised by the award-winning gospel musician Diana Hamilton, brought together gospel artistes, Christians and music fans on one stage.

Some of the personalities that graced the event include Sam George, Betty Mould Iddrisu, Julius Debrah, Kojo Oppong Nkrumah, among others.

The theme for this year’s Awake Experience concert was “The Doing of the Lord”.

It featured incredible performances from gospel artistes such as Daughters of Glorious Jesus, Diana Hamilton, Nigerian act Mercy Chinwo and a host of others who gave outstanding performances to entertain their various fans.

In a packed auditorium, a section of music fans were spotted singing and dancing as the performing artistes took to the stage one after the other.

It kicked off with a performance by the legendary Daughters of Glorious Jesus, who did not only rock the stage with hit tracks, but their stagecraft was exceptionally good.

Nigerian gospel icon Mercy Chinwo’s presence was also felt. She stormed the stage with so much energy and performed most of her popular songs including ‘Na You Dey Reign’, and left the audience mesmerised.

Diana Hamilton, the headline artiste, also thrilled fans with some of her popular gospel songs such as ‘Mo Ne Yo’, ‘Wasem’, among others.

Diana Hamilton really expressed her love for gospel music throughout her stage performance.

Mercy Chinwo joined her on stage to perform their chart-topping collaboration ‘The Doing of the Lord’.

‘The Awake Experience with Diana Hamilton’ concert is an interdenominational gospel concert held annually in Accra and Kumasi.

The Kumasi edition will be held this Sunday.
