Abrewa Nana raises concerns over biased media treatment of artists –

Ghanaian music icon Abrewa Nana has voiced concerns regarding the media’s biased treatment of ‘A-List’ artists, pointing out its negative impact on the overall advancement of the country’s music industry.

During an exclusive interview with Graphic Showbiz, she emphasized the necessity for a more united and inclusive approach, underscoring how focusing solely on a few artists can create divisions.

Abrewa Nana argued that such media practices contribute to the perception that Ghanaian artists face challenges on the global stage. She called for a shift towards providing equal opportunities to a diverse range of talents, citing successful approaches adopted by other nations.

Expressing dissatisfaction with current disparities in the industry, Abrewa Nana urged industry leaders, record labels, and policymakers to implement measures breaking down barriers hindering the progress of musicians, particularly emerging talents.

She advocated for the creation of an environment that supports artists from all backgrounds, emphasizing the importance of unity.

“I believe in a music industry that provides equal opportunities for everyone, regardless of their background or origin. It’s time for us to come together and create a space where talent can flourish, irrespective of gender, ethnicity or socio-economic status,” she said.
