Mohamed Salisu threatened to face journalists’ boot to boot after they were booed over AFCON performance

It seems Ghanaian defender Mohamed Salisu is not only good at defending on the football field, as he vowed to take on any Ghanaian journalist who dares to come close to him.

It was a bitter moment for Ghanaians all over the world when the Black Stars conceded a late goal against Mozambique to play out a 2-2 draw despite having a two-goal lead up to the 90th minute of the game.

The result means they accumulated only two points from a possible nine in the group stage of the ongoing African Cup of Nations tournament in Ivory Coast, placing them 3rd in the group table.

After the game, there was some tension between the players and Ghanaian journalists present in Ivory Coast as videos of the media hooting at the players emerged online.

In one of the videos, France-based defender Mohamed Salisu, who plays for AS Monaco in the French top-division league, vowed to react aggressively should anyone come close to him.

The video has drawn several reactions from Ghanaian social media users and below are some of the comments from Facebook users.

“Instead of admitting their shameful performance, Look at him” Agbey Albert Set or wrote

“He’s a big villager, who does that even top-notch players, they do boo them and all they need to do, is to let it slide” Nana Opoku

“He is a human n feels pain a Ghanaian also for dat matter ,, u guys should stop attacking him as if he is de reason behind ur sadness in life De journalist should use same energy to de politicians also eerh” Malam Vip

Meanwhile, Ghana’s exit from the AFCON tournament has been confirmed and made official after Cameroon secured a dramatic win against Gambia in their final group game to secure qualification as one of the best third-placed teams in the group stage.
