Fame will come and go

In an interview, rapper Yaw Tog—real name Thorsten Owusu Gyimah—said that being famous has made him stronger.

Yaw Mawutor Fianu, host of Class 91.3 FM’s drive-time on Wednesday, November 29, 2023, inquired as to how his rise to stardom had altered his personality.

It was “tough!” that Tog responded with. “I’ve learned a lot about life because of it.” I have grown up because of fame.

There “is a whole lot” he said, when asked about being famous. I face disappointments all the time, so… “It’s fine,” he reassured her.

According to the Sore hitmaker, “I was overwhelmed” upon first realising he was receiving more notice, which included a Billboard article about him.

But “as time [went] on,” he reminded himself that fame “will come and go” and continued living his life happily ever after.

Being “the shy type,” he claimed that his mother and everyone else was caught unawares when he had a successful music career debut at the tender age of 18.

Yaw Tog asserts that he mostly put the money he made from his hit singles “Sore” featuring the Asakaa Boys and “Sore Remix” featuring Stormzy and Kwesi Arthur into investments.

Investing was all he was doing, he assured me. “I don’t like to spend a lot.”

In his opinion, hip-hop feuds are inevitable in the “business.” Yet, he isn’t in it for the fights; rather, he wants to “make the bag,” which translates to “make money.”

Yaw Tog and Asakaa Boys Brouhaha

Somewhere in the year 2021, Yaw Tog released his hit song “Sore” which featured some Asakaa boys like O’kenneth, City Boy, Reggie and Jay Bahd.

Aside from that song, Yaw Tog and the Asakaa Boys worked on other projects until rumors circulated that the rapper had disassociated himself from the group.

Yaw Tog and Asakaa Boys

And the rumours were confirmed when Yaw Tog sidelined all the Asakaa Boys who did the original “Sore” song as they were not part of the remix version of the song which featured Stormzy.

Gracefully, the Asakaa Boys’ Yaw Tog neglected when he had his breakthrough in the music industry is far gone while Yaw Tog has come back to hiatus or better still underground status in the industry – Indeed, karma is a bitch!!
