Verna Water donates GHC 5000 to a young street hawker in Accra –

Ghana’s leading water brand, Verna Purified Water has once more donated a cash amount of GHC 5000 to a young female street hawker in Accra.

After getting pregnant as an innocent teenager and losing her child, the now twenty-year-old Mary Mensah had to travel from Kade in the Eastern Region of Ghana to Accra in search of a better life.

However, life in Ghana’s capital city of Accra has not spared Mary from the numerous economic and social hardships.

She worked as a hired hand at streetside beverage joint in the central business district of Accra where she was paid GHC 30 per day but unfortunately, the woman she was working for has stopped the business.

The young Mary whose dream is to become a dressmaker decided to hawk water and soft drinks on the streets.

Luck smiled at her as she encountered the ‘Verna Changing Lives’ promotion team at Kinbu, Accra. Her heart-touching story got her selected as the twelfth winner in the 12-week life-transforming campaign dubbed the ‘Accra Turning Point’ by Twellium Foundation, producers of Verna Purified Water.

Each of the twelve winners was presented with GHC 5000 cash, packs of Verna Purified Water and other products from Twellium Industrial Company.

The elated Mary Mensah thanked Verna Water and 3FM for extending a helping hand during her time of need. She remains hopeful that the funds she has received will help her learn dressmaking and grant her a better future.

The life-transforming initiative by Verna Purified Water powered by 3FM 92.7 MHz, has made a positive impact on the lives of those facing adversity, exemplifying the power of collective support and community outreach.
