A known serial caller identified as Kwabena Nyame has taken on a member of the legal team for New Patriotic Party (NPP) flagbearer hopeful Kennedy Agyapong, Ralph Agyapong, for his recent comments against the wife of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, Samira Bawumia.
Ralph Agyapong has chided the wife of Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia for her ‘luxurious’ lifestyle, which comes at an exorbitant cost.
Ralph Agyapong noted that Mrs Samira Bawumia could have invested the sums of money spent on accessories such as handbags to help alleviate the current condition of Ghanaians who are facing economic challenges.
He noted that the Assin Central MP, Kennedy Agyapong, whom she allegedly described as “bitter, angry, and satisfied candidate” has played a vital role in the upgrade of lives in the Ashanti Region.
Mrs Bawumia is reported to have entreated NPP delegates to ignore Mr Agyapong since he didn’t mind landing the party into opposition.
In response, Mr Ralph Agyapong said: “This is the Second Lady who is in the Ashanti region and telling the polling station executives and coordinators about someone she claims to be bitter, angry, and satisfied.
“When God blessed him, he didn’t spend the money; rather, he is using it to build a Cardio Centre for 37 Military Hospital for the military.
“Go to the Okomfo Anokye Cancer Centre; he has donated money to them. When he had money, he didn’t use it to buy expensive bags to go and stand in front of polling station executives.”
He compared the amount of money spent on bags by Mrs Bawumia to the Vice President’s recent donation to the victims of the dam spillages in the country.
“The money she used to buy the said bag is more expensive than her husband’s donation to the flood victims. If you approach people with this kind of luxurious lifestyle and tell them this, what is more insulting than this? So, what the woman said, I believe it just came at the spot, that is how I see it,” he said.
Reacting to this in an interview on Hello FM, Kwabena Nyame registered his displeasure, noting that such comments should not be uttered by an educated individual.
“I sometimes wail and get disappointed for not acquiring formal education but when I see some people like Ralph Agyapong….
I’m sad that we are all vying for a position in the party but there have been attacks on Bawumia’s wife. But if you go and talk about her bag, so in this world, if she had not done anything, it is a bag issue. I’m so sad,” he said.
He added: “So he is telling us that the delegates who listened to Samira Bawumia don’t have the ability to think for themselves?”
