Shama Explosion: ‘Report Yourself To The Police Or Else…’ – EPA Boss Warns Ghanaian Co-Owner Of Quarry Company | Science & Environment

The Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) in collaboration with the Police has mounted a manhunt for the co-owner of the quarry company involved in the explosion at Shama in the Western Region.

The explosives, reportedly being kept at an unstructured storage without permit detonated and killed the workers.

Four Chinese nationals, one of which is a co-owner of the quarry company called “G-Omini Quarry”, have been revealed to be among the dead, according to the Chief Executive Officer of the EPA, Henry Kwabena Kokofu.

Meanwhile, a Ghanaian national who also owned the company is said to be on the run with his whereabouts unknown to the authorities.

Speaking on Peace FM’s “Kokrokoo” morning show, Henry Kokofu cautioned the Ghanaian owner to immediately report himself to avoid further trouble.

“If he doesn’t want trouble, he should report himself to the nearest Police and the EPA because he is needed urgently for our investigations”, he said.

He also implored persons with information on his whereabouts to make it known to the Police.
