Fred Nuamah speaks on his next move after withdrawing for Dumelo

Despite withdrawing from the upcoming Ayawaso West-Wuogon parliamentary primary of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Fred Nuamah has made it clear that he still intends to pursue his political aspirations.

The actor and politician discussed his decision to withdraw from the race in an interview with Graphic , which gave his close buddy, famed actor John Dumelo, the advantage. Nuamah underlined that his departure from the political scene was only a brief interruption rather than a final end to his political ambitions.

“While my decision to pull back from the Ayawaso West-Wuogon NDC parliamentary primaries might indicate a temporary break from my political ambitions, it doesn’t necessarily mean that I have given up on politics. No!” he asserted, speaking of his future plans.

According to him, he is committed to his party and is ready to contribute in various capacities within the political landscape.

“I will serve my party and Ghanaians in several ways and at different levels. The future will take care of itself,” he stated confidently.

The Ghana Movie Awards founder recently withdrew from the Ayawaso West Wuogon parliamentary race of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) to make way for his friend John Dumelo.

Fred, who engaged Dumelo in a seeming war of words after it emerged that he was contesting in the same constituency as his bosom friend, claimed in an official letter to the NDC that his decision to withdraw came about as a result of in-depth discussions with important stakeholders and independent of outside pressure.

In his letter, he firmly stated:

“I firmly believe that the NDC must present a unified front for the 2024 general elections. As a dedicated member of the NDC, I prioritize the party’s unity and the President John Mahama project aimed at rescuing our country. I wholeheartedly endorse and throw my support behind my good friend and brother, Mr John Dumelo, to be the parliamentary candidate for the NDC in the Ayawaso West-Wuogon constituency. I urge all my supporters across all levels of the party in the constituency to rally behind John Dumelo and provide him with needed support. Together, with a renewed sense of togetherness, we can secure victory in the 2024 elections and uplift our nation from its current state.”
