Why I Almost Quit Acting – Fella Makafui tells it all

Striking a Balance: Fella Makafui Opens Up About the Challenges of Juggling Acting, Family, and Business

Ghanaian actress Fella Makafui recently shared her struggles with balancing her acting career, family life, and burgeoning business ventures, revealing that she came close to quitting acting three years ago. Despite the difficulties, Makafui persevered, thanks in part to the support and encouragement of her husband, Medikal.

At just 27 years old, Makafui has made a name for herself in the Ghanaian film industry, particularly through her roles in popular movies such as the YOLO TV series. However, the demanding nature of her acting commitments, with long hours on set, began to take a toll on her ability to manage her other responsibilities.

“In the past, around three years ago, I almost gave up on acting because I couldn’t find the right balance,” Makafui revealed candidly. “Being on set until late at night, around 11 or 12, made it challenging for me. I thought it wouldn’t work out, especially since my business was thriving and making good profits.”

As a serial entrepreneur and influential brand figure, Makafui had built successful enterprises outside of her acting career, which tempted her to prioritize her business ventures over acting permanently.

However, it was her husband, Medikal, who convinced her to give acting another chance. “Ever since I got back to acting, things have been okay. My husband was very understanding and supportive. We have a team of people helping us manage our household, including a chef and a cleaner. It’s a balancing act, but it’s the life I chose to live,” Makafui explained.

Since her return to acting, Makafui has been able to find ways to strike a harmonious balance between her acting career and her business endeavors. While she admits there is a learning curve, she remains committed to both aspects of her life.

Currently, Fella Makafui is embarking on a media tour to promote her self-produced media project, which is set to premiere on May 26th, 2023, at the Silverbird Cinemas. Through her journey, Makafui serves as an inspiration for aspiring actors and entrepreneurs, showcasing the importance of perseverance and determination in pursuing multiple passions.

As she continues to navigate the challenges of balancing acting, family, and business, Fella Makafui’s story serves as a reminder that with the right support system and a relentless drive to succeed, it is possible to excel in various domains and forge a fulfilling career path.
