One of the few people who were disappointed and went home empty-handed after losing to their co-contenders was Maccasio, a hip-hop rapper from the northern part of the country.
Maccasio became the only artiste from the Northern region to be nominated in this year’s edition under the category of the Reggae Dancehall Song Of The Year, using his song ‘Eyes On You’ featuring Stonebwoy.
He faced tough competition with Konkara Jahvybz – A Go dey ft. Kelvyn Boy, Ras Kuuku – 33N1, Epixode – Atia, Black Sherif – Don’t Forget Me, Rocky Dawuni – Never Bow Down ft. Blvk H3ro and unfortunately lost to Epixode.
Making his first public post a day after the awards night, the rapper who is known outside showbiz as Sheriff Abdul Majeed claimed that there can not be a failure for a man who has not lost his courage, his character, and his self-respect.
He went ahead to presume that thousands are sad that he lost the award and few are rejoicing his loss and trolling him back and forth. He likewise communicated his appreciation to the individuals who upheld him with their votes.
“There can be no failure to a man who has not lost his courage, his character, his self respect, thousands are sad and few are happy. But we thank God regardless. And thank you guys for the votes&love 🙏Ⓜ️,” he said.
