Yintii Esther Yinlomah simply known by her stage name as Lomah, the representative of the Talensi District at this year’s Happy Man Bitters – Miss Upper East Ghana was crowned the queen on Monday, January 2, 2023. She was also crowned Top Model, Miss Popularity, Miss Eloquent.
Lamisi from the Bongo District came out as the 1st runner-up.
The grand finale, which took place at the Gnat Hall in the Upper East regional capital, Bolgatanga, saw Zampokma, the Nabdam District’s representative emerging as 2nd runner-up.
Her feat did not come easy as she faced stiff competition from Zampokma, Lamisi, Poka, Meriga, Bawku Weat District’s Awintima, Builsa District’s Ayaami, and Akelesyine from the Bolgatanga Central.
In addition to the crown, Miss Lomah from the Talensi District who is poised to “Create Awareness On Road Safety In The Upper East Region” as her project went home with Ghc 12,000.00 cash prize ( 8k cash + 4k project ) and other incentives.
Asaah Patience Apogyanbila Lamisi with the stage name Lamisi from the Bongo District, with the project topic “Fighting to reduce maternal death in the Upper East Region of Ghana” received Ghc 7,000.00 cash prize – ( 4k + 3k project ) and other incentives as the 1st runner up. She also won the Miss Photogenic
Zampokma whose real name is Asolmia Racheal from the Nabdam District received a Table Top Fridge – 2k project as the second runner up. Her project work is “Caring for people living with disabilities (PWDs) in the Upper East region”. She was also crowned the Miss Tap Hotel who is automatically made an ambassador for the Hotel, which comes with many benefits of different kinds.
Third runner up went to Poka from the Bongo District and she went home with 32″ Tv – 1k project.
Aganapo Rita Awen-nayaami with the stage name Ayaami is the 4th Runner up. She went home with a Microwave. She also won Miss Culture, Miss Talent, and Miss Eloquent.
It was a night of beauty, cultural display, and music (edutainment) as popular Ghanaian artistes B-Wayne performed to the admiration of the audience.
Miss Upper East Ghana was incepted in 2018, to educate the people of the Upper East region, and the world on the various cultural ues and heritage of the various Districts, and to promote them.
Miss Upper East Ghana is also poised at teaching beautiful and ambitious young ladies from the various districts who unveil themselves as contestants multiple life skills such as “learning to be comfortable onstage and around strangers, gaining poise, determining the best way to present oneself (including how to dress appropriately), realizing the need for practice, learning good sportsmanship, becoming more outgoing and learning to listen” among others.
