Tamale City FC posted their second win of the campaign as they defeated Accra Great Olympics 2-1 at home in the betPawa Premier League on Saturday.
In the other game of the day, Bibiani Gold Stars continued with their impressive form as they took a point at Berekum against Chelsea in a goalless stalemate.
Tamale City remain in the relegation zone, but their win today at the Aliu Mahama Sports Stadium, Tamale, will give them hope of staying up in the competition on their debut in the Ghanaian top-flight league.
Goals by Raphael Essien and Sampson Eduku either side of a Gideon Offei equalizer for Great Olympics, handed all three points to Tamale City who are unbeaten in their last three league matches.
Defeat, meant the Wonder Club have now lost four office their last five matches, and this should be worrying signs to Coach Yaw Preko and his technical team members.
In the other Matchday 10 fixture played at the Golden City Park, Berekum, there was little to chose between the two sides as Gold Stars made it six matches without defeat in the league.
Chelsea, were seeking to get back to winning ways after losing to Asante Kotoko in midweek, but they could not find a way past a very stubborn Gold Stars side as the game ended goalless.
The competition will continue on Sunday and Monday with the rest of the Matchday 10 fixtures.
