Outgone head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo says the Black Stars could have become World Champions despite the early exit.
The Black Stars suffered early exit from the tournament after tasting two losses and one victory in group H.
The Black Stars opened their World Cup campaign with a 3-2 loss against former European champions, Portugal at fhe 974 Stadium.
The Black Stars however came back stronger in their second game against South Korea beating the Asians by 3-2.
The Black Stars gave out a poor show against old foes, Uruguay in the third and final group H game where they lost 2-0.
The defeat sent the Black Stars out of the tournament for the second time in 2024 and the current competition.
That notwithstanding, Otto Addo believes the Black Stars could have become World Champions as well.
“So it [six months contract] will end now and it hasn’t got anything to do with the outcome or result, it would have also ended as World Champions and I have to respect my contract, I have to respect the club I’m working for.”
