Shatta Wale, a reggae dancehall musician who was scheduled to be the main performer at the Onua TV Sankofa Hogbe Beach Rave conversion, has explained why he was unable to go on stage.
The performer said in a video that he left the venue after becoming enraged by one of the organizer’s comments.
He adds that he wasn’t taken to his hotel after being told to do an interview on a local radio station when he first arrived.
Charles Nii Armah Mensah claims he was requested to go and welcome the traditional authority. He claims this put him under pressure leading up to the incident.
He claims one of the organizers warned him that unless he consents to the radio interview, he would not be escorted to his hotel room.
He claimed that this prompted him to lash out and return to Accra, lamenting the disrespect shown to Ghanaian artists.
