“There must be proper communication to avoid 2014 bonus saga” – Ex-Ghana Defender

Ex-Black Stars defender, Shilla Illiasu has called for proper communication to help avoid the 2014 FIFA World Cup bonus saga.

Ghana exited the competition at the group stage after there had been issues of bonus delays.

Shilla Illiasu spoke to Adamu Muftawu of Radio Gold Talk Sport.

“Although everybody is looking for money but I will say it is not about that.

“Most of the players some of them are playing outside, the money they are taking it’s not about the winning bonus in the national team.

“So they only target to go and make their name and get more contract outside.

“In 2014, our preparation back in Ghana was poor because they didn’t communicate well to them.

“They [players] didn’t go there to look for money but the communication back in Ghana was very poor, that’s why they went to Brazil and that kind of incident happened.” Shilla Illiasu told Radio Gold Talk Sport.
