Hearts of Oak players are well fit to replace the Black Stars if I lead them- Slavko Matic

The history and records backs the current coach for Hearts of Oak. As the unprecedented have happened before. Hearts of Oak gave Nigeria a tough time and they will never forget about that drawn game. The men behind the team proved why they were conquering Africa and Ghana respectively.

Ghana ‘Hearts’ Stars hold Nigeria in Accra on March 10, 2001. There was virtually zero confidence in the existing Black Stars team.

Head coach of Hearts of Oak, Slavko Matic has urged the head coach of the Black Stars, Otto Addo to give local players the opportunity to display their talent.

Three home based players have been named in the 55-man provisional FIFA World Cup squad.

Hearts of Oak duo of Dennis Korsah, Daniel Afriyie Barnieh and Asante Kotoko goalkeeper, Danlad Ibrahim have been selected in the initial squad that will cut down to 26.

Slavko Matic believes the two Hearts of Oak players will prove themselves if given the opportunity.

“The World Cup they will prove, they will be ready

“This is the decision of the head coach and I wish them a lot of happiness and good luck for all nation at the World Cup,” Slavko Matic told StarTimes”.

The Black Stars have been paired in group H alongside Uruguay, Portugal and South Korea for the tournament that starts in the next two weeks in Qatar.

It is a through story from Slavko Matic, Hearts of Oak by all means will never disappoint Ghanaians because history backs them. An all Accra Hearts of Oak set-up, managed by the club’s head coach Cecil Jones Attquayefio, battled proudly to deny Nigeria in a goalless.
