UAE bans Ghanaians, 19 other African nationals from entering Dubai » ™

Reports indicate that citizens of Ghana and 19 other African nations have been denied entry to Dubai, the capital of the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

DW Africa reported that the restriction, the cause for which was not specified, will go into effect on October 24, 2022.

“The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a visa ban on nationalities from 20 African countries seeking to visit Dubai.

“Countries affected include Ghana, Sierra Leone, Sudan, Cameroon, Nigeria, Liberia, Burundi, Republic of Guinea, Gambia, Togo, Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal, Benin, Ivory Coast, Congo, Rwanda, Burkina Faso, Guinea Bissau, and Comoros. The ban takes immediate effect,” parts of a Facebook post shared by DW Africa on Monday read.

As a reminder, this is not for the first time have citizens of Ghana and other African nations been denied entry to Dubai.

On December 28, 2021, Emirates Airlines declared that owing to the spread of the Omicron COVID-19 strain, passengers from eight African nations would no longer be permitted to fly to or via Dubai until further notice.

Angola, Guinea, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, Cote d’Ivoire, and Ethiopia were among the nations represented.
